I've dedicated my life to guiding people like you on a journey toward emotional wellness. Do you often feel like an invisible wall is holding you back? You're not alone. The good news is, we can break down that wall together, piece by piece.
I am a bariatric psychologist with 19 years of bariatric specialty experience. My journey started with my own bariatric surgery in 2005. I began hosting bariatric support meetings, working with bariatric patients, and completing bariatric evaluations in 2006. It is my joy and honor to be a part of your bariatric journey.
I want you to know that I understand what it's like to struggle with weight and health. I was overweight by the third grade, and my top weight was 345 pounds. Over the years, I lost the same weight over and over, gaining more back each time. No carbs and two hours at the gym daily was my formula, but it got to a point where I couldn't get below 250 pounds no matter what I did. I lost 70 pounds or more five times, and my weight was never steady.
I know how disheartening it is to regain the weight you lost, and how quickly it reappears after you have worked so hard to lose it. When I stopped dieting the last time at 250 pounds, I gained 85 pounds in six months....and I promise you I wasn't going crazy with food; I was just eating.
When I do an evaluation, I intend to create a comfortable atmosphere for you and just chat about the surgery and your life. I don't want you to be nervous, and I like to tell patients that I can't even make my child nervous, so why start with someone else now?
I look forward to meeting you soon.
